The PA Dept. of Health (DOH) is largely to blame for letting Gosnell continue to do abortions, even after numerous complaints were filed.  There simply was, and is, no excuse, for their dragging their feet.  In addition to exposing the negligence of this department, we need to put pressure on DOH, now, to enforce the new regulations of abortion clinics in our state.  We need an investigation as to why it is taking so long for them to publicize the current status of most of the abortion clinics in our state.  The DOH website clearly lacks many current inspection reports, if, in fact, needed inspections were ever done.  The Gosnell case clearly teaches us that abortion clinics can’t be relied upon to police themselves, and, sadly, it appears we can’t rely on DOH either.  We have a right as taxpayers to timely information, and we rely on the state, and especially DOH, for needed consumer protection.
